5.3 Reading - Directions

These are the most common words to use when you have to give the direction of a place:

On the right, on the left, straight forward, next to, behind, after, before.

Example:
1. A: Excuse me! Where is the supermarket?
    B: Take the first street on the right and you will find it.

2. A: Excuse me! Is there a post office near here?
    B: Yes, it's on the left side of this street, 5 minutes from here.

3. A: Excuse me! Can you please tell me where is the bank?
    B: Go straight forward, and you will find it next to the cinema.

4. A: Excuse me! Is there a chemist's near here?
    B: Yes, it's behind the church.

5. A: Excuse me! Where is the police station?
    B: It's after the bridge.

6. A: Excuse me! Can you please tell where I can find a bakery?
    B: There is a baker before the big square.
